The Casey Whyte Trio
At just 18 years old British violinist Casey Whyte has had a remarkable start in her musical career... When not performing alongside legendary Gypsy jazz artists like Stochelo Rosenberg and Robin Nolan, she's playing with the likes of Nigel Kennedy and Jean-Luc Ponty!
The trio, put together especially to open the festival features Chris Quinn, a regular accompanist with The Robin Nolan Trio, Paulus Schäfer and Stochelo Rosenberg and Tom Moore who's day job is bassist with Remi Harris.
Expect a selection of Casey's favourite Stephane Grappelli and Django Reinhardt numbers, modern jazz and her own compositions.

Recently described by Rick Beato (watch the video below) as the world's leading gypsy jazz guitarist, Joscho Stephan's breathtaking combination of virtuosity, swing, and boundary-pushing creativity promises audiences an exhilarating evening of modern gypsy jazz.
Joscho has collaborated with many of the world’s finest guitarists, including Bireli Lagrène, Stochelo Rosenberg, and Tommy Emmanuel. He was handpicked as the only European guitarist at George Benson's exclusive guitar Camp. He's appeared with Frank Vignola and John Jorgenson at New York’s legendary Birdland Jazz Club...
No stranger to Shrewsbury as co founder of the annual UK Gypsy Jazz Retreat running alongside the festival,
Paulus Schäfer is one of the most talented Gypsy Jazz guitarists of our time. Born into the Dutch Sinti community, he learned to play guitar at a very early age.
Globally he's in high demand and has played at many leading venues and jazz festivals; from Carnegie Hall and Royal Opera House Mumbai to the Bimhuis Amsetrdan and Copenhagen Jazz Festival.
The band also features Chris Quinn on guitar and leading jazz violinist Christiaan Van Hemert

Widely considered to be the world’s foremost exponent of solo jazz and fingerstyle guitar playing, Martin possesses an inimitable style that has earned him global acclaim from fellow musicians, fans and critics alike. He dazzles audiences with a signature style that artfully combines his virtuosity, emotion and humour with a strong, engaging stage presence.

Robin Nolan
2025 saw Robin signing a major record deal with George Harrison's label Dark Horse records, now run by the family of the late Beatle, giving Robin and Gypsy Jazz a deserved place in Rock and Roll history!
Recorded at Friar Park, George Harrison’s home, For the Love of George features ten Gypsy Jazz interpretations of classic George Harrison songs, as well as a brand-new composition crafted by Nolan from chords discovered on an envelope after Harrison’s passing. Bringing a deeply personal connection to the project, Nolan played three of George’s own guitars during the recording sessions.
LDC invite the Hungarian guitarist Debi Botos for a night of virtuosity, passion and incredible improvised music inspired by the legacy of Django Reinhardt.
Having sold out dates at Ronnie Scotts London, Pizza Express Jazz Club and performed at Festival Django Reinhardt in France; The London Django Collective are at the forefront of the British acoustic jazz scene and each member a highly regarded improviser!
The band is co-lead led by Scottish violinist Matt Holborn and guitarist Harry Diplock with Sol Grimshaw & Simon Read.
Hungarian-born Debi Botos’s heritage and strong musical family legacy inspired her to develop into a skilled, self-taught Gypsy jazz guitarist.
Exploring and honouring the style that defined the sounds of pioneer Django Reinhardt. She divides her time between North America and Europe as an in demand soloist. She's collaborated with genre leaders Samson Schmitt, Roby Lakatos, Ludovic Beier and Stephanie Wrembel.
To close the 2025 festival we have a 2nd set from The London Django Collective followed by the famous Shrewsbury Django Fest all star jam.
This is where real fireworks can take place with some of the finest in the world doing what they do best!
