Martin Taylor worked with Stephane Grappelli for 11-years. Filling the guitar chair for Django Reinhardt.
Ulf Wakenius worked with Oscar Peterson for 10-years. Filling the guitar chair for Joe Pass, Herb Ellis and Barney Kessel.
They have also worked with greats like, Pat Metheny, Herbie Hancock, Jeff Beck, George Harrison, Mike Brecker, Michel Legrand, Jamie Cullum, Chet Atkins, Ray Brown, Tommy Emmanuel, Jim Hall. to mention a few.

Shrewsbury Django fest is incredibly excited to present a very rare opportunity to see and hear
absolute royalty of the Gypsy Jazz world in this quintet lead by two of the genres most celebrated Sinti Gypsy guitarists.
Set to recreate the original 5 piece line up of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli's famous Quintette du Hot Club de France of 3 guitars, violin and bass, Belgian Gypsy, Fapy Lafertin - considered to be the "godfather" of modern gypsy jazz guitar - joins forces with the phenomenal Dutch Gypsy Paulus Schäfer to front this all out power quintet. Featuring the world renowned Dutch violinist Christiaan Van Hemert, perhaps best known for his work with the Rosenberg academy, Chris Quinn who has spent the past decade touring and recording with with artists like Robin Nolan, Stochelo Rosenberg, Moses Rosenberg, Clive Carroll and Paulus Schäfer. Holding down the bass is Mike Green, well known for his work with the Remi Harris Trio which recently saw backing Jamie Cullum at the Royal Albert Hall for the BBC Proms! If you love gypsy jazz, this has to be the UK gig of the year!...

This amazing line up has been put together for their concert at Shrewsbury Django Fest 2020. The power quartet is fronted by the Danish jazz vocalist Sara Oschlag. Alongside constant international performing she's amassed millions of views on youtube for her renditions of classic jazz and gypsy jazz standards, just check her out!
Gary Potter, possibly the UK's best known gypsy jazz guitarist who's outspoken admirers have included Chet Atkins and George Harrison, he also appeared in the television documentary, The Django Legacy. His virtuoso playing is full of joy and humour.
John Wheatcroft has had an amazing career in the jazz guitar world playing with with artists as diverse as Billy Cobham (Miles Davis), John Williams, Frank Gambale (Chick Corea), Paco Peña, Mozes Rosenberg, Mike Clark and Bill Summers (The Headhunters). John has toured the world with both Carl Palmer (ELP) and John Jorgenson (Elton John/ Hellecasters) and he is a regular contributor to Guitar Techniques Magazine, along with contributing numerous lessons for Guitarist UK, Guitar Part (France) and Guitar World.
Double bassist, Dan Sheppard has worked worked for many years on the jazz scene more recently gaining notoriety for his work with the Jonny Hepbir Quartet.

Remi Harris is an exciting Jazz & Blues guitarist from the UK who's unique style draws inspiration from artists such as Django Reinhardt, Jimi Hendrix, Wes Montgomery, Peter Green and Led Zeppelin. He has performed at Buckingham Palace, Montreal Jazz Festival, BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall with Jamie Cullum, on BBC 4 Television and live on BBC Radio 2 & 3. In his live shows Remi plays an eclectic mix of jazz standards, improvisations, original compositions and new arrangements of his favourite tunes. He plays a variety of acoustic and electric guitars and the shows are interspersed with his commentary about the history of the music and instruments he’s playing.
